Today was so beautiful that nick and i decided to go for a wander around the city. before we had walked too far, we came across on of those great 'this guy has died and we're selling all his shit' estate sales. so of course we went on in. i immediately saw this picture hanging on the wall and had to have it.
its a strange piece of some sort of original art - mottled orange and red in the foreground with a half kidney shape in the center. its definitely not a print, and i'm guessing its of some city. i'm trying to see san francisco in it, but i'm not convinced. the best part, besides the crimson red city, is the amazing detail that is used to create the city lots. these lines were placed on this piece so forcefully that the paper is raised around it, making a semi 3-D effect.
well, that was the cool find. i also found a rousseau print that isn't at all that special except we had to have it since it has bearded cats. I mean, comm'on! bearded cats!
